Pyrohy Masterclass

Uncover the secrets of authentic Ukrainian pyrohy (perogies)! In this hands-on cooking class, you’ll learn to craft authentic Ukrainian pyrohy. From kneading dough to preparing flavourful fillings, our masterful instructors will guide you every step of the way. 

You’ll leave with your own handmade pyrohy dough and customized filling, along with cherished recipes that are sure to become family favourites.

Dates: Saturday, June 20; Saturday, July 18; and Saturday, August 15

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Location: Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village, 20-25 minutes east of Sherwood Park (Google Maps)

Cost: $90 per person, includes admission to the Ukrainian Village, pyrohy sampler lunch, and all food supplies

Current members of the Friends of the Ukrainian Village Society receive $15 off registration. Please email uchv@gov.ab.ca prior to registering to receive your member discount code.

  1. Is registration required?

    1. Yes, pre-registration is required. 

  2. Is there an age restriction?

    1. All participants must be 18+. 

  3. Is this an indoor or outdoor program?
    1. The class will take place inside one of our historic buildings, but 5-10 minutes of walking is required to get from visitor information to the building.

  4. Will the program run rain or shine?
    1. Yes, the program will run rain or shine! Please be prepared for walking on gravel roads and spending some time outdoors.

  5. Is food available?
    1. Yes! Your class registration includes pyrohy sampling for lunch! In addition, our food concession is open for food purchases before or after the program.

  6. What should I bring?

    1. We recommend brining anything you would need for a brief walk outdoors – comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, hats, rain gear, water bottles. All items needed for the cooking class are included in the registration fee and provided.
